Is Herdwick Hideaway At Deepdale Hall Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
This property is designed specifically as a romantic retreat for couples. The compact shepherd's hut has just one double bed and limited space, making it unsuitable for children. The working farm setting with hot tub and fire pit also presents safety considerations. Families with kids would be better suited to larger Lake District properties.
For Couples
Herdwick Hideaway is built for romance. The intimate shepherd's hut offers total privacy on a peaceful farm. Soak in your hot tub under starry skies, enjoy prosecco by the fire pit, or use the fondue set for a special dinner. The single-room layout with double bed creates a cosy atmosphere perfect for reconnecting away from everyday life.
Pet Friendly
Herdwick Hideaway does not allow pets. This restriction exists because the property sits on a working sheep farm where dogs would cause stress to the livestock. The compact nature of the shepherd's hut also makes it impractical for pets. Guests seeking pet-friendly accommodation should look at alternative Lake District properties.

Herdwick Hideaway At Deepdale Hall Reviews

Alex
Really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and hot tub.
Jamie Collins
We recently marked our anniversary here and honestly, it was fantastic. The place was spotless and cosyand the fondue set along with the prosecco was a really nice touch. The views were breathtakingand we wish we had more time to enjoy them. We also meant to sign the guest book but ran out of time. Definitely planning to come back next year! Ohand next time, we'll bring some milk - us Yorkshire folk do love a good cuppa. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Emma
The hot tub was fantasticand the view really made our stay special, though a bit snug.
James
The cabin was really lovely, exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return!
Emily Carter
We’ve stayed here twice now and honestly, it’s become a favourite spot for us. The shepherd’s huts are so cosy and comfy, plus waking up to those stunning views is just incredible. The sheep are surprisingly friendly-one even cuddled up next to me while I was scratching its ears for ages. It’s great value for moneyand we’re already planning to come back next year. Can’t recommend it enough!
Oliver
We stayed just outside Patterdale near Ullswater, on a working sheep farm, which was quite charming. The huts are compact but have everything we needed-well insulated, double glazedand an electric heater to keep warm. During a windy night, the hut stayed solid, so no seasickness here! Plus, each one has its own WiFi since there's no mobile signal around. Walking along Deepdale starts right from your doorstep. Overall, a really lovely stay-definitely recommended!
Emma
Really pleased with the place, it had everything we wanted!
Emma Carter
Lovely spot, comfy stay, lots of sheep, what’s not to adore?
Emma Roberts

The shepherd's hut was spotless and super comfy, with lovely towels and bedding. The scenery was like a postcard-absolutely stunning! Perfect for peaceful walks and relaxing. Honestly, we couldn’t find a single fault. Definitely coming back soon, highly recommend for a quiet getaway!
Jamie
We had an amazing stay! The location is spot on, with stunning views and super cosy touches like the firewood and welcome gifts. Watching the sheep, especially that little lamb in a balaclava, was adorable. The walk to nearby spots like Ullswater and Grisedale Valley isn’t too tough and totally worth it. Definitely recommend Lantys Tarn for breathtaking scenery. We’ll be back for sure!
Emma
This cosy shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated, with lovely touches around. Hosts are really welcoming, made us feel at home!
Jamie
The place is really peaceful and perfect for relaxing, we honestly couldn't find a fault.
