Lovely cottage with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. It is a bit remote if you like to walk to a pub or shops etc. Hot tub was excellent. The log burner kept us lovely and warm when the weather was really cold and windy. Bed was comfy the bedroom was a bit small but still had a dresser mirror wardrobe and drawers and a small ensuite. The main bathroom was roomier. We had everything we needed apart from a smart tv so we could watch Netflix, prime etc. The TV had seen better days. On the whole we had a great stay and would come back again. The lady next door taking care of the cottage was lovely and very helpful.

Amazing stay at rum bush cottage. Would definitely recommend. Lovley and quiet with walks on your door step and a hot tub to soak in after. Couldn't ask for more

Fantastic cottage, lovely warm vibe and very well kept with mostly everything you need. My only down point was the mattress, I felt like every time I rolled over the bed would either break or the mattress would collapse on the edge and id fall out. Other than that everything was perfect.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. We loved the hot tub and the neighbouring sheep. The cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed and we appreciated the thought that had gone in to providing things like tea towels, hand wash and super fluffy hot tub towels. Close to the town of Appleby, which is cracking and has everything you could need, plus an amazing Indian restaurant. We loved it so much we rebooked for next year.

We have just got home and did not want to leave! Highly recommend. The hot tub was a hit with the kids, nearly 12&16. Our black Lab loved it. He had his own little enclosed garden. Beds were comfy. The views are amazing. Loved waking up to the sheep everyday. The family on the farm are friendly and made sure we were happy. Can't wait to go back. We have family in Penrith, only half hour away, if that so perfect location for us and the places we wanted to visit. It isn't luxury as it's on a working farm but the cottage was clean and well looked after. As a family we all wanted to experience the rural life in the fells. We did the tourist experience of Windermere which we have done before and love but it's nice to escape that when we get back to the cottage. It's great for the kids to get their heads out of their devices and climb fells, walk along rivers and waterfalls.

Absolutely perfect break away! Cottage was perfect, very well presented and in the most perfect location! Easter break with baby lambs all around us. No fuss, no problems, no drama whatsoever. My only regret was not booking longer! I could live there!

The cottage was stunning, far away enough from all the noise so you can relax but close enough to all the walks we wanted to do. 2 points about the maintenance... 1st. The jacuzzi definitely needs a new lid asap and 2nd the heating, not sure how it worked as it was either too hot or had to turn it off, no between so maybe soon Instructions on how that works. But apart from that the cottage was perfect would definitely stop again.

Everything was as described, owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any query. The house was clean, cosy and warm on arrival and the hot tub was well used over the Xmas period. We even had a tree and decorations. We had a lovely break, myself and my daughter and we even had our cat with us

We had an brilliant time! The cottage was cosy, the heating was already on when we got there which, given the recent cold snap, was much appreciated. It's only a short drive from Appleby if you want to pop out for supplies or a pub lunch. The location was perfect for walks with our dog and the view from the hot tub made it even better. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be back!

We love this cottage, we were first there in August 2023 and have just returned from another week, which was the soonest we could manage! Very nice owners, the place is spotlessly clean, the heating was on for our arrival and the makings of a log fire ready! Great area, feels very remote, cut off yet isnt at all! Very peaceful. Had a lovely comfortable stay at Rum Bush. The location was fab, cottage was basic but had everything we needed. It was perfectly clean and the hot tub worked well the lid just needs replacing. One of the light bulbs was flickering but this was replaced for us as soon as we reported it. The price was very reasonable. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice property, clean warm and well managed. The design and decor wasnt as high as what you might expect from a Sykes property and the hot tub was a bit battered, but is did work on one setting. Overall quite happy

We had a wonderful stay at Rum Bush cottage. The owners were very accommodating especially as we on booked on the morning of our arrival. The cottage was very clean and well maintained, with a spacious living and dining area on the first floor of the cottage which allowed for great views down over the Pennines. Ideally located in a rural setting with great walks on the doorstep but still close to all amenities in Appleby. The hot tub is a great addition especially on a clear night, there were hundreds of stars out. Some great villages around the area and a visit to The Stag Inn at Dufton is a must. We will certainly return to this cottage.

Every second weekend we take the kids away for a long weekend as a family treat, so glad we have come across this delightful charming cottage. Its just what we need to relax in this beautiful country side. The cottage was very welcoming extremely clean cosy and everything we needed was available in Run Bush cottage, the kids enjoyed the friendly sheep. Will be returning shortly for another weekend winter escape, possibly new year.
