Had a lovely few days away relaxing over Hogmanay, cottage was cosy and comfortable and perfect for 3 people. We enjoyed exploring the local area and it was the perfect mix of rural and quiet but well connected to local bigger towns. Local pub, cafe and chocolate shop are brilliant to visit! Hot tub was an amazing addition and wonderful to be in while looking at the stars. Cottage was cleaned to a high standard and wellequipped for the stay, and owners were quick to respond to queries and super helpful. Thanks again!

The cottage is lovely and has huge potential but we didnt have the smoothest stay. When we arrived, the cottage was freezing and had obviously been empty for a few weeks. We couldnt get the heating to come on and when we rang the owners contact number they didnt really know how to fix it. I had to google it and although it wasnt fixed that evening it had come on by morning. Not a great start especially when we have 2 small children who went to bed cold. When we then went to use the hot tub the next day, that wasnt hot and was showing an error message. Again the owner wasnt very helpful and I had to watch YouTube videos to try and fix it. The hot tub started to smell after a few days so Im not convinced it had chlorine in it. When I contacted the owner they simply said theyd look into it after we leftno apology. My last message went unanswered. Understand the owners are going through a difficult time and are selling but weve also had a tough few months and were looking forward to lovely relaxing family break. Not a great experience.

We had a fantastic time at Low fold cottage. The cottage had everything you would need for a break away. The beds are comfy and the lounge area has good quality sofas with an electric log fire to keep the colder evenings away. As the cottage is quite secluded it is very quiet with the occasional owl hooting or sheep bleating. The walk down the bridal path behind the cottage allows you to take in the views of Orton. The hot tub was well needed after the Orton trail walk, through fields of sheep and trekking up the hill to the monument. The location was beautiful for a chilled and relaxing time. There are many walks around the area with lots of friendly locals. The chocolate factory coffee shop offers a lovely cream tea with freshly baked scones. The location is good for visits to the Lakes. Lake Windermere offers great water activities with delicious ice creams. A visit to Pooley bridge offers easy access to walks around Ullswater lake with boat trips and orienteering. A visit out to The greyhound pub in Shap was a scenic ten minute drive through rural lanes of cows and sheep, with many viewing points to take in the scenery. The food here is delicious and the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce is amazing. Will definitely be returning
