Box Tree Escapes Reviews

Samantha
The property is great for a large group with plenty of modern, social space. The location is very peaceful and quite isolated, but with several small villages within a few miles. Unfortunately, there was a significant issue with a drainagesewer problem causing a terrible smell and rendering the main bathroom and one bedroom unusable. The owner tried to help and booked a plumber but this was for after we vacated.
Gerard
Everything was as described. One or two little things that need to be sorted maintenance wise, which Ian the owner, said he'd rectify that day. Being all on one level helped as we had two guests with mobility issues. Good facilities and in a good location for exp!oring both coast and dales. Weather was kind to us so having the hot tub was a bonus.
Really enjoyed our stay, ideal base for exploring the area. Spacious and well equipped. The owner went above and beyond for us and this was greatly appreciated.
The property was spacious and we equipped, clean and comfortable, we had a great stay thank you so much!
Samantha

We had a very good week staying in this lovely spacious property. It has everything you need including tv in every room, fast wifi, hot tub and country views all round, beautiful.
Hayley
We had a fabulous stay at the Barbon. The cabin was very spacious, clean and had all the facilities you could want. The hot tub went down a treat especially for the kids. It was in a very central location. We especially enjoyed our visit to white scar caves in Ingleson. Definitely recommend and Ian was a great host. The hamper was a lovely surprise xx
Christine
Stayed 4 nights from 24 Dec 2 families and from stepping inside it was a wow from start to finish. Well equipped, had everything we needed and Ian was extremely friendly and helpful. The M&S hamper was a lovely touch and complete surprise. Would definitely stay again and would recommend. Ps the hot tub completed the whole package!
Just got back from a brilliant stay with friends. Ian was super helpful and a great host. Would definitely stay again.
Property was exactly like the photos! Everything was clean and comfortable. Ian was really friendly and helpful. All of us really enjoyed our stay.
Lauren
Had an amazing time and the accommodation was just spectacular. Ian was amazing and so helpful! Just wish there was more toilet roll ha.
Angela
Ian was very friendly and welcoming. The house was spacious enough for 10 people and it had enough space for the kids to play. The location was amazing and serene. It was an amazing break!
Vivian
Could not fault the Barbon we all thoroughly enjoyed it and what a great break for my 70 th birthday with my family and grand children. Ian was on hand and what a great guy so helpfull and there when you needed him. We ran out of dishwashing tablets so I would recommend bringing enough, all the plates and cutlery were spotless as were the bedding and sheets.we had two barbeques while there so need enough charcoal with you. Great place and would definitely return, thank you.
The Barbon was an excellent base to get away from current problems in the world and perfect for a family. There is enough space for everyone to have their own escape but loads of shared area to have real quality family time. The great things about The Barbon are the hot tub which is really well maintained and spotless, the firepit and BBQ. We were blessed with the weather so were outside most of the time. The kitchen area and living area allow for lots of shared family time. Areas for improvement the tv is internet tv only so you will need to sign into your own accounts to watch anything. It wasnt a problem for us but might be for others. The inly other thing worth a mention is there is a glamping site next door which we didnt know about so if you are expecting isolation this place has 11 shepherd huts next door. The Barbon and The next door accommodation are kept very separate, but they are there. The site is however situated in a rural area 20 mins to the nearest supermarket so its probably worth arranging a food delivery rather than popping to the shop and a pub about a mile away which isnt really walkable as the roads are very narrow. Also on our last day the water became Luke warm so showers were less than pleasant. A disappointing end to an otherwise perfect stay. We had a fabulous stay though and would highly recommend it.
Well equipped and comfortable lodge in peaceful surroundings. Helpful owner. Loved the hot tub, which we used every day despite variable weather! As we were the first people in it we think since lockdown, it could have done with a last minute clean before we arrived. The waste bins had not been properly cleaned and some cutlery and crockery was not clean. However, it was not a major problem.
We had a great stay at The Barbon. Location is perfect, so much to see and do and the close by Kirby Lonsdale is just great. Accommodation had all we couldve wanted, Ian the host was very welcoming and was on hand if we needed anything. Comfy beds and everything clean and in good condition. Most relaxing holiday weve had in a very long time.
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The lodge exceeded my expectations and the views were spectacular. The owner Ian is very welcoming and always on hand to help with anything you may need and is great at recommending some local things to try out. The lodge came very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and was very clean and tidy.
Beautiful lodge in a lovely location, the owner has gone all out with the decor and you can see the quality in every room. Definitely would go back again and Ian the owner is on hand if you need any help.
The location to alot of places we visited was perfect. The lodge is new and well proportioned.
The area was lovely, the hosts were fab really clear and helpful. We were hoping there would be a few condiments, although there wasnt, a shop was nearby where we could obtain these. Very comfy and spacious, even the decking was large, plenty of room for 10 of us. Hoping to come back again!
Alexandra
The owner was really friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Ian the owner was fantastic ! ! From the day we contacted him until we left he was extremely helpful and available whenever we needed his advice. The Barbon was very well designed and very comfortable for 8 of us . It was extremely clean and had all the comforts and amenities needed. As a bonus the hot tub was really relaxing . Well done Ian.
