Lovely stay at Birkett Barn. Beautiful views from the property and hot tub. Property very well equipped with everything we needed. We had a lovely holiday in Birkett Barn, which is a beautiful cottage, with excellent facilities and extremely comfortable accommodation, all set in the most glorious setting, with magnificent views. The owners, Jackie and Malcolm were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The dogs, cats and kittens all gave us a friendly greeting too, and the hot tub was enjoyed immensely. Thank you.

What a great find! This stunning barn is certainly worthy of a visit for its comfort, cleanliness, space and stunning views. The views from the hot tub are amazing and everything was perfect. Both the kitchen and lounge were great spaces, especially the super well equipped kitchen. You didnt want for anything in terms of cooking utensils, crockery it was all there if you want to throw a dinner party for your family or friends. What was also special was that each bedroom had its own ensuite so no waiting to use a main bathroom plus there were two other toilets in the property too! The hot tub was ready on the day of arrival and up to temperature you couldnt fault the position and the views on offer as you drink a glass of Prosecco. Malcolm the host and his wife had done a great job on keeping the property in fabulous order and we were greeted with a nice welcome basket too. This is a property you can book with confidence and enjoy the fabulous Yorkshire countryside.

A great property for a large family gathering, lots of space, plenty bathrooms and kitchen well equipped. The hot tub worked well even in the stormy weather. Beautiful countryside with lots of farm animals round about. A little bit remote, access road seemed never ending on arrival but the perfect place for a peaceful get away. Kirkby Stephen is a nice wee town about 10 minutes drive.

A lovely house, clean, spacious and comfortable in a beautiful location, we had a great time staying there. The house is well equipped with plenty of crockery. The only negative is that some of the baking trays could do with being replaced.

Birkett Barn really did live up to expectations and more. It was so comfortable, spotlessly clean, and everything you would need in the kitchen area. So much thought had gone into making Birkett Barn perfect for an enjoyable and relaxing family holiday. Shower cream, shampoo, conditioner and soap all provided, plus plenty of toilet rolls! Beds comfortable. Bed linen and towels immaculate. Welcome box with milk, locally made sweets, biscuits and a bottle of prosecco was another added touch. The location was beautiful and so peaceful and quiet. An added bonus was the hot tub. Thank you Jackie and Malcolm, we have had a wonderful holiday.

We all had a wonderful stay. The cottage was beautiful and immaculately clean, which was especially important to us with a 1 & 2 year old who like to play on the floor. There was plenty of space for them to play whilst us adults relaxed and we all annoyed seeing the animals on our doorstep. I'm usually ready to get home after a week away but I wasn't this time. All our needs were catered for and the owners had gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. Thank you!

Birkett Barn was a lovely holiday home. The views were breathtaking and we were all very comfortable in this well equipped and well maintained property. On top of the four ensuite bedrooms it also had a cloak roomtoilet on each floor which is very handy for visitors and those who prefer not use the stairs too much. There is so much to see and do locally, highlights include the Wensleydale Creamery, Tan Hill Inn and the Settle to Carlisle railway. This is a lovely place to stay and relax.

It was everything we d hoped for. Thebeds were comfortable the water hot. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Lovely welcome pack and lots if information in the book. The situation was great for walking and the hot tub a delightful addition.

The interior of the property was beautiful and they supplied everything you needed and more for a relaxing and peaceful stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Everything was perfect. The house is fabulous with amazing views. The beds were comfortable, showers were great. We found a bottle of wine, snacks and milk left for us which was a nice surprise. Hot tub was amazing too. A mirror in the downstairs and upstairs toilets would be nice but not a criticism, just a suggestion. A wonderful stay!

Fantastic property! Everything was immaculate and was probably the best stocked rental we have stayed in in terms of kitchen equipment and utensils. Plenty of space and felt very cosy and homely. Would 100 stay here again. Only thing worth noting is that the property is on a working farm so you might be woken up by the sounds of dogs or cockerels so maybe bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper!

This converted barn has to be one of, or if not, the best we have ever stayed in. It was spotlessly clean and had everything present we couldve asked for or needed. It is decorated to a high standard and even the bedding is of a high quality. The added extras like welcome basket and Christmas decorations really made it special. The view from outside the cottage is spectacular, the day we were leaving we woke up to a covering of snow! Wow. As the barn is accessed via a single track road we did worry we might struggle to get out due to the snow and 1 rear wheel drive car, however the owner made himself present and told us he had a 4x4 If needed. Luckily it was not, however the thoughtoffer was very much appreciated! The only negative we could think of would be that we didnt stay for long enough. Just means we will have to visit again now

We had a wonderful stay at Birkett Barn, our only downside was having to leave! We will certainly be back, such a beautiful home in a fantastic location, close to villages with shops, places to eat, bars etc, some lovely walking routes which we didnt have time to fully explore but a perfect base for when we come back. The house itself was well equipped, kids loved having their own rooms and all being en suite was an added bonus, the people were lovely and the seating areas perfect for family games and family meals, the kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Views were just magical. Thank you so much for having us, and were certain we will see you again soon.

Birkett Barn was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. The whole experience was fantastic and apart from the comfortable cottage, the views were incredible. The only small negative observation was the quality of the utensils such as vegetable peeler and grater being of poor quality.The non stick frying pans wereconsiderably worn and the non stick coating had worn away. Bearing in mind the high quality of the kitchen and its facilities, it was surprising that these items were not up to standard. Only a small negative observation and apart from this we had no complaints.

Absolutely stunning property, great location and facilties. We were only there for 2 nights for a wedding locally but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only comment would be a slightly later check out time would be preferable, getting 6 adults and two kids rounded up for 10 am after a late night was a challenge!! Maybe 11.30 would have been a better time.

Absolutely fabulous venue that was perfect for 4 couples enjoying time away together. The location is fantastic and considering it is on a working farm there was very little noise or distraction. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and keep the house and area to a very high standard of cleanliness. The 2 main areas Kitchendining and the living room are of ample proportions and all fixtures and fittings are of a very good standard. This is also relevant for the 4 bedrooms and all have ensuite. We hope to be back soon.

This is an amazing property in a fantastic location. The property was warm and very comfortable. All of the electrical appliances were of high quality. It was great to have plenty of crockery and cutlery. It was great that all bedrooms were the same so no quibbling about who got what room and some of the little touches biscuits, sweets, face wipes were really appreciated. Finally the hot tub was easily accessed from the property and was lovely and clean.
