We had a really relaxing break in this gorgeous cottage. So peaceful and quiet and those amazing views. We did lots of walking and had some lovely meals out but always enjoyed returning each day to the cottage to enjoy a glass of wine and a soak in the hot tub. We definitely hope to return soon!

Situated in a fantastic location with stunning views. The cottage was very easy to find and parking was right outside the door. The first thing you notice is how peaceful and quiet the surroundings are. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, welcoming, and well equipped. Thank you to the owner Caroline for making it such a pleasant stay and for the welcome basket. There is a lovely garden at the back which is nice to relax in and take in the views from all sides. There is lots to see in the area and there's lots of wildlife, especially birds, and great walks, and getting around is very easy to the nearby towns, especially for shops. Thanks again Caroline. It was a lovely stay and we will definitely come back and I thoroughly recommend others to come and stay at this lovely place

The cottage is absolutely delightful, very comfortable and spacious for us as a couple. It's been beautifully finished, with candles electric so absolutely safe, pictures, lamps, and ornaments which all make for a very cosy, enjoyable space. The kitchen lacks nothing and was perfect for cooking up hearty teas we were really fortunate to be there when the monthly farmer's market was held on Saturday morning at the nearby auction mart so were able to stock up on delicious produce from there. The bed is noteworthy so comfortable we wondered if our own mattress at home needed changing! Having the hot tub was such a treat, perfect to hop in and relax after a day spent exploring the stunning countryside around about. It's not an area we'd visited before but we loved it and will certainly be back in the future
A beautiful detached cottage set within breathtaking views of the North Pennines. A very clean and comfortable cottage with all the amenities you could possibly need. A well equipped kitchen, comfortable spacious lounge area with a log burner which was great for the chilly evenings. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. The added bonus was the addition of the hot tub which after a day exploring was great to relax in and take in the wonderful views. All in all a fantastic cottage for a relaxing holiday
We had the most wonderful stay at East Crossthwaite Cottage. The standard of accommodation was fantastic with the beds being very comfortable. The views from the front door were stunning. The host, Caroline, welcomed us on arrival and was very friendly. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub looking over the fields after long days out. We had a bbq one warm evening and enjoyed using the firepit and then using the log burner on a subsequent colder evening. We visited lots of beautiful places in the North Penines and Yorkshire Dales. Would highly recommend.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Its in a beautiful, peaceful locations with great walks, castles and gardens nearby. The hot tub is a bonus, great to sit in and enjoy the view. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic cottage, well equipped & super comfortable. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. The cottage is in a stunning location & benefits from being lovely & remote but also only a short walk into Middleton in Teesdale. We never had to take the car out once as so many lovely walks on the doorstep & nice pubscafes in the town. Bonus getting in the hottub after a long walk. Would highly recommend this cottage & are looking forward to coming again.

When we arrived the cottage was spotless,very festive including a Christmas tree and extremely tasteful. We spent a week that flew and is definitely home from home. The hot tub was outstanding with excellent jets and wonderful view. The christma lights on the pagoda were an added delight. Whilst the hot tub was checked daily the hosts were extremely decreet and the stay felt very private and uninterrupted. Also the village is extremely close even for a walker like us. Of all the places we have stayed in the UK one of the best !! Overall

This cottage is beautiful and so secluded. It has everything you need even a welcome pack which was much appreciated. Even saw a red robin the morning after we arrived through the side window. The area is stunning too. Cottage facilities were beyond my expectations. Hot tub was fabulous. The rooms are so comfy, the bed was extremely comfy and the whole place was spotlessly clean. I would absolutely love to return here in Spring, we both loved it here. So if you are looking for somewhere secluded and special this is the place to be. My thanks to Caroline who called in to see us owner lovely lady.
Our second visit and this cottage is perfect in every way. Situated in the most beautiful and relaxing landscape a true home from home. The cottage is so well equipped, attention to detail is fantastic and everywhere is spotlessly clean. Caroline is by far the best host. The hot tub is a wonderful addition to sit and watch the beautiful surroundings. Wonderful, we will return again and again. Definitely our number 1 favourite.

It was a very well maintained and equipped cottage with lush bedding. Fantastic host who made you feel very welcomed with a welcome basket and milk in the fridge. The hot tub was a nice treat especially with the lovely views around the cottage. A beautiful base if you want a relaxed holiday to enjoy the amazing beauty of this part of the world. My girlfriend and I recently spent an absolutely idyllic week at the beautiful Crossthwaite Cottage, the location is fabulous, views are to die for and the property itself is stunning. We tend to have a week away every month through the summer so have stayed at quite a lot of different properties but this easily goes into our top 3, if the wifi was better it would probably go into first place ha ha! my girlfriend has to have zoom meetings and connection wasn't the best unfortunately. Needless to say we will be making this a regular destination, we are actually back there in September and can't wait!

A brilliant well equipped cottage, nothing not to like. Cosy in a great location the village was very Christmassy local butchers is great. The whole week was great, snow on arrival wildlife of all kinds please feed the robin . The cottage has everything you'll need. The Christmas tree and decorations a nice surprise on arrival. We have booked many cottages around the country over the years none compare to this will definately be coming back.

A lovely weeks holiday in a lovely relaxing cottage. From when we arrived even although it was downpour that evening until we left, we felt so comfortable & relaxed, cottage was of very high standard, very clean & a lovely welcome pack as well. Nearby village, 10 mins walk, had nice places for coffee & cake & places for lunchdinner. Plenty of walks around & a very nice hot tub to relax in later in evening

Great place to stay. The cottage was well appointed, comfortable and had all the necessary essentials for self catering. Welcome pack was very much appreciated. Superb views across Crossthwaite Beck to Middleton in Teesdale with lots of wildlife to see, noted the unmistakeable curlew and cuckoo calls. The cottage location enabled us to visit Durham probably a 2 day visit to do it all, Barnard Castle, Bowes Museum, Beamish Museum, Eggleston Hall Gardens the Caf is great too, Raby Castle and High and Low Force waterfalls. Further afield Beatrix Potter Hill Top Farm, Wray Castle and of course the Lakes. Plenty of walks to follow and see the local scenery including parts of the Pennine Way.

East Crossthwaite is still my favourite Cottage and location to stay for a complete relax and restore break. Ticks all the boxes providing , peaceful, private, away from it all comfortable and cosy accommodation. Great views from every window. Outside gardens and all areas around the property are very well kept and magical at night, with fairy lights scattered around. Theres beautiful views of the fells and an abundance of wildlife .The hot tub area under a pergola is great and comes with great views. The Owners are the nicest people too. Its unbeatable! Cant wait to book again
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at East Crossthwaite Cottage! A very comfortable place to relax after a walk, do a spot of bird watching and to chill. The villagers are very welcoming and a wealth of knowledge on the area.
Just got back from a weeks stay and we had a brilliant time would definitely go back. Cottage is beautiful, everything has been thought about and the welcome pack was a nice touch. Very clean and modern inside, beds very comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. My only small negative is that I found the pictures of the garden on the listing quite deceptive, it looks as though it has a lot of land attached at the back but in reality the garden is a very small patch of grass up some stone steps. We didnt need to contact the owners about anything Caroline was very helpful on email before we arrived with arrival instructions etc.

I loved our stay at East Crossthwaite Cottage. Location was great near to local walks and the village and it's amenities was a short walk away. Loved the hot tub and it was cosy being able to have a log fire in the evening from the log burner.
