We loved our stay at Springwater View. Really lovely house our favourite that we have stayed at for a while. Super comfy beds and plenty of room in the lounge and dining table. We found it a good base for things we wanted to do Barnard Castle, the beautiful nearby waterfalls, day trip to Durham and to The Forbidden Corner. Lovely hosts who greeted us when we arrived and came daily to service the hot tub. We had a lovely meal in the local pub one evening. Quite rural but we loved that about it.

We spent a lovely week at 1 Springwater View. The house was clean and tidy, the beds were comfy and it had everything we needed. My only negative was that it could do with a sweeping brush set save getting the vacuum out for a few crumbs. Would stay again and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful Stay at 1 Spring View Cottage We had an absolutely lovely stay at 1 Spring View Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome Karen, one of the owners, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. She gave us some fantastic ideas for local dog walks, which made exploring the area even more enjoyable with our 3 four legged friends. The cottage itself was spotless and very well equipped. Everything we needed was provided from cleaning supplies to kitchen utensils which made settling in and enjoying our time effortless. Its clear that a lot of thought and care goes into making guests feel comfortable. Karen was around daily to check the hot tub and was always friendly, approachable, and happy to help with anything we needed. Its those personal touches that really make a stay special. This is one of three cottages owned by a lovely family business, and its easy to see the pride they take in looking after both the properties and their guests. Great property in a lovely little village. The property was very well equipped, spotlessly clean with everything you could need. Loved arriving to a home made loaf in the bread maker as well as biscuits, cake, milk plus supply of tea bags and coffee. Plentiful parking for 3 cars, and having two dogs the secure garden was ideal. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break here and would recommend.

We all enjoyed the lovely cosy cottage feel and to walk into the smell of freshly baked bread was fantastic it also tasted great! . Everyone we met were very friendly and I would recommend staying here . One tiny thing we could have done with more teaspoons in the cutlery drawer 4 wasnt enough but everything else was perfect.

There were 3 generations, all adults, we had a wonderful 3 days with good weather. The cottage was just perfect very clean, we couldnt have done better considering we had no idea what to expect. This was the first time weve visited the Durham Dales and we were not disappointed. Springwater View was amazing, very clean and homely, we wanted for nothing. Plenty of room for our family of 5. The beds were so comfy my daughter couldnt believe how comfy they were! Everyone we met was so friendly and happy to chat especially Karen, she gave my hubby and son in law plenty of advice on good cycle routes to keep them busy! Our dogs loved walking down the lane and across a couple of small fields to splash in the river Tees. We visited High Force Waterfall, Barnard Castle and Hamsterley Forest as well as Hayberries Nature Reserve and Romaldkirk. The two pubs in the village are fab, good food and drink. Loved our holiday so much weve booked to go back alreadysee you next year Springwater View.

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage over the New Year. The cottage was well equipped and was lovely and clean. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and then time to chill in either the front room or kitchen as they both had a TV. It was a nice surprise when we arrived to be met by the smell of freshly made bread and a small selection of delicious biscuits left by the owner. Views from the house were breathtaking with many local walks. The owner was available if we needed anything. Overall our family had an amazing time making memories.

We had the most wonderful stay at Spring Water View, everything was perfect from start to finish. On arrival we were greeted by Karen, shown around the cottage and she gave recommendations for places to visit and food options. Karen provided us with milk, cakes and a loaf of freshly baked bread, a lovely touch. All amenities were spot on, rooms were very spacious and ideal for 6 of us. We had an amazing weekend stay for a family get together. The accommodation was fantastic with everything we needed and more! Karen was very welcoming and on hand to answer any queries. The welcome gifts and homemade bread were an added bonus. The area is stunning with walks from the cottage and a short drive to Barnard Castle. We also walked from Low Falls to High Falls. Beautiful house in a lovely area

Well appointed cottage in a beautiful setting. Comfortably accommodated our party of eight and one dog easily. We all loved the garden and hot tub. Karen met us on arrival, showed us round the property and provided a lovely welcome pack which included freshly cooked bread! The village has two good pubs, The Crown where we had a lovely meal and the Blacksmiths Arms which was very friendly.

Lovely area, couple of nice pubs within easy walking distance. Some nice walks from the doorstep. The host was very prompt in communicating and responding to any queries we had. The bread cooking as we arrived, and the welcome pack was an unexpected but welcomed addition. Would recommend both the accommodation and the area.

We arrived to a lovely aroma of freshly baked bread, to our delight there was a freshly baked loaf in the bread machine waiting. Thank you so much for this and the fruit cake and biscuits. They were lovely after a long journey. We arranged a tesco delivery to be delivered on the day we arrived for ease. Highly recommend! Lovely home, very clean and the beds were very comfortable!! Kitchen well equipped for what you need. Hot tub was a bonus, Julie was in it every day! Have to praise on the house being dog friendly and not just dog tolerant. Was refreshing to visit a property and not have too many restrictions. It felt like they were more than welcome. Visited Barnard Castle a few times. Saturday was very busy and not much carparking, however they have the best fish and chip shop we've ever been too. Fish and chips 149. A must if you enjoy them. Lovely ice cream shops. They do have a morrisons and lidl if you need anything too. We did a few different walks, first one was to high force waterfall from the high force hotel car park. 3.50 per person and tickets can be bought online or at the waterfall. Beautiful scenery, perfect to let the dogs off to have a run through the woods. Second walk was from Bowlees visitors center to high force hotel. Lovely walk, dogs have to stay on a lead, however a good walk with a few waterfalls and Gibsons cave! Teesdale railway walk was If you are after a local dog walk, go straight out the back gate and straight down the lane. You'll come to an open field where the dogs can have a good run to the bridge. Didn't manage to explore over the bridge but there is a public footpath there. Highly recommend eating at the high force hotel. Food was reasonable price and delicious. Hot meat cibatta was amazing. Made a fuss of the dogs. Still lots to visit will definitely be returning. Thanks so much for a lovely holida

Fantastic stay. We were there for a week and it was the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Lots of beautiful walks on your doorstep plus sightseeing bits for a rainy day only 1015 minute drive away. Theres also a very friendly pub a 2 minute walk away with amazing pizzas The house was well equipped throughout including the hot tub which was a welcome treat after a long walk!
