Elder Lodge, Limefitt Park

Excellent lodge that has a lot of extras like an air fryer. The lodge is comfortable and spacious for a family of four. Extremely dog friendly, even has a box of dog toys and spare leads, bowls etc. We knew the hot tub was broken when we booked, but it would have been a real bonus if that had been working. The decking area is really nice to sit on, but an overgrown tree in front of the decking does obscure the view a little, it would be nice if this could be cut back. All in all, a lovely place to stay and we will be booking this lodge again I. The future.

On first appearance all looked lovely but on closer inspection it was a little grubby. Stains on the carpet The cleanliness certainly could be improved upon. The worktops felt very tacky and the oven and oven utensils had passed their sell by date. The biggest disappointment of all, having chosen the hottest week of the year was no parasol we found a completely broken one thrown under the lodge to give shade on the decking area for us and our doggies which meant we had to stay indoors more than we would have liked. TV channels were few and far between and the WIFI dropped out too often.

Excellent base to visit the Lake District. Very Comfortable and well organised lodge.

The lodge was well laid out catering for our needs, as well as our dog. The lodge, however is in need of some TLC and checks of cleanliness needs carrying out prior to occupancy of paying guests, and not just a lip service. I say this as a pair of blood stained ladies underwear was found in the under sink cupboard by my mother inlaw, as well as filthy hair brushes in the bedside cabinet in the twin roomPhotos available if required. Apart from these issues we enjoyed our our stay and left the lodge cleaner than how we found it.

Generally a good stay, the haybarn pub was really good with great food if only it had been open earlier for breakfast. Our lodge was very dog friendly but had issues with the shower holder not working plus the hot tub was out of order, could do with alot of tlc

Overall stay was very good as was the last time we stayed. The property itself is very spacious and has everything needed .. but we feel it needs a little updating in places, the sofas are getting worn and the decor could do with a freshen up. The lodge was not as clean as it should have been on arrival but everything said we would definitely return to this lodge, great location on the site too. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at Elder Lodge. It was the first time staying at Limefitt as we have previously stayed at White Cross Bay we enjoyed the scenery and views a lot more, and it was lovely being able to enjoy the views from the decking area and hot tub! Inside the lodge everything was fine, and the bed was very comfy! Just a few things to highlight but werent bad enough to raise while there the shower in the second bedroom was held up by a cable tie so probably needs fixing, one of the wall lights in the master bedroom didnt work, there was a very strong drain smell from the utility room, and the hot tub decided to run its filtration programme at night which woke us up a few times. We really enjoyed the holiday though, thank you.

We have stayed in Elder Lodge on several occasions and have always had a wonderful time ,the Lodge is spacious and comfortable.

Holiday property was lovely and clean, great little bits left like a pint of milk in the fridge, tea bags ect to get us going the night of arrival. In a few places maintenance was needed on the lodge, peeling panels and some scuffs to bathroom door however I wouldn't mark the property down for this. The site was lovely and the dog field was great for our dog to run around, only down side is some owners down pick up their dog poo!!! I know the park can't police this and there are plenty of bins so very disappointing owners aren't picking up in this lovely environment.

A lovely lodge, warm and cosy with all you could need for a weeks holiday. Loads of space and the utility room was useful fior our dog food etc. Nicely decorated for Christmas. A few problems a dvd player was listed but wasnt there, the basin leaked in the main bathroom and the radiator didnt work in the second bedroom. Wouldnt stop us returning but hopefully in drier weather.

The hot tub jets dont seem to be working very well. Jets 2 button doesnt do anything and we found bits of jets in the bottom of the hot tub left on step when we departed. Both showers keep going hot and cold and the kitchen in particular needs some tlc as doors were chipped and peeling. TV also has a permanent patch on it that looks like light reflection but is in fact some sort of damage.

Beautiful property we felt very lucky to be there and enjoyed the stay especially the hot tub. Would love to return.

We have stayed in Elder Lodge on numerous occasions and always found it very comfortable and a home from home this last stay was even better the Lodge had been a little updated and little extra touches like the welcome pack even for our four legged family member, we will definitely be back hopefully soon.

Lovely holiday, great location and perfect for us. The lodge is really well maintained and is so doggy friendly, which was excellent. The facilities were good, we loved having access to a washing machine and tumble dryer and my husband loved the hot tub! The only negative was that it wasnt spotlessly clean when we arrived, with food on the chopping boards and tags from clothes left in the bedroom by a previous occupier. It would also be good to have a couple more fans available as the lodge gets very hot in the sun and the only fan available isnt fit for purpose. We had a lovely time and would definitely use the lodge again!

We have stayed before and found it okay, this time my wife fully hoovered on arrival, the plugs in both utility and bath are not operational, I payed for premium internet and was unable to even get weather updates no internet service at all No phone service at all, we left a day early because we could not get any hot water to wash or shower unless the central heating was on which left the lodge unbearably hot, we could not find any instructions for any appliances especially the TV 5 different remotes in a drawer Thanks Steve

This is our 5th visit to Elder Lodge we feel like its a home from home we love the space in the bedrooms and comfortable beds it makes for a wonderful break.

We have stayed on this park a few times but this lodge was by far the best. Lots of space well equipped with everything you need, comfortable and the location very good. Loved the homely feel in the lodge, pictures and ornaments

Fantastic property, our family felt at home as soon as we arrived.

We had a fantastic week,wheather could have been better but it was December. The hot tub was amazing. Lovely meal in the pub dog walking field was very good for the furboy. The lodge could do some tlc in some areas but we loved the lodge and the beds and bedding was fantastic.we will definitely be back to the elder lodge

We really enjoyed our stay, really good location. but the photos on the website need updating , we were dissapointed with the lodge , a lot of wear and tear and nothing like what we were expecting

Perfect location for exploring the Lakes, amazing holiday lodge and site facilities. The lodge was so cozy and clean with quality furnishings and fittings. The beds were so comfy too. Everything you needed was on hand in the lodge. Loads of accessories for fur babies which was a really nice touch. We would definitely return we really loved it.

The lodge itself had everything we needed facilities wise. But it also had a few issues the fridge freezer was so loud it could be heard from the bedroom it was constant whining noise. The tap was also dripping and we could see this was mentioned on a previous review. The main bedroom bed we felt like we had been bitten constantly when sleeping in this bed felt like fleas so we used the other room, but even now still feel all bitten.

Lovely clean and well equipped lodge still has a drippy tap seems this has already been mentioned in previous reviews. Would be handy to have manuals on oven and washer etc for ease of use. Requested bed to be made into a king size twice and this never happened mattress on single bed very soft and squeaky needs replacing. Overall a lovely stay and would return however the park itself needs to do something about the sheep that run loose leaving mess all over they even got into dog field and left mess that my dog loves to eat she spent the whole holiday with a bad stomach!

Fantastic stay! Lodge was in a great location with stunning views. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the hills was a bonus. The lodge itself was really roomy. So well equipped not only for us but for our four legged friend. Especially impressed with the linendog room. Thanks for having us.

We are returning customers to this great park and lodge. The lodge has everything you would need for a comfortable, relaxing stay and even has provision for your dog towelsbowls. The hot tub was a god send as the weather was so warm, but even if the weather wasn't good, the hot tub is clean and a welcome additional feature. We did have an issue with the veranda gate not closing and our dog managed to push it open and take herself to the Haybarn pub for a pint thank you much to the bar staff who kept her safe and returned her to us. The maintenance staff did repair this whilst we were there. There were also a dropping tap in the kitchen reported to maintenance and there was a couple of dirty towels in the bathroom on arrival floor towel for the shower, but we had taken our own so it wasn't a big issue. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this lodge and will look to book in the future.

A brilliant lodge. Spacious well equipped. So comfortable didn't want to leave. In a lovely position. Quiet but only a few miles from Windermere itself. Nice walks for dogs with a dedicated field to run free.

Wonderful lodge. And a added bonus of a hot tub which were fantastic. Beautiful views from every angle. We brought our two golden retrievers on this break with us and they absolutely loved it too. Very dog friendly! Massive plus! Highly recommend this lodge place. Weve already booked to come back again.

Lodge was lovely! Had everything we could possibly need, and was extremely equipped! The heating in the twin bedroom was very temperamental, so we had to keep the bedroom door open to keep it temperate in there. We did notice, not that it affected us in anyway, but it may be worth looking at, that the patio door in the living area didnt look very secure when closed and locked. We cant fault the lodge in anyway!

From the moment we arrived on my 50th I was really excited as I had previously phoned and mentioned it was my 50th on arrival so was hoping for maybe a small token card or something but nothing I was a bit disappointed. The place however was great it smelled so nice and was very clean . Our room was great there was lots of storage and the bed and bedding was so comfy even my husband said it was and he is fussy . My 15 year old daughter had the other room I asked to put the beds together so it was a big kingsize she was delighted and the shower room was brilliant with good storage wardrobe too. We booked this especially as it had a hot tub and wow it was amazing myself and my husband had never been in one and it was spotless clean . It was pouring down but was so warm and with the flashy lights you forget it's raining . The little additions of the dog leads poo bags etc was such a nice touch I was impressed. My husband is the cook in our family and he loved the kitchen so much storage pans etc and the oven was amazing we had full chicken roast on Sunday cooked so well sitting round the big table watching a bit of tv . My dog loved it too all the walks round about and being able to be safe on the decking . I could go on how amazing our stay was all day but the only problem we came across was the tv only free view my husband loves his tv we even bought out fire stick but no I ternet connection . We didn't come away to watch TV all day but after a long walk you should have the option to watch more than free view channels. I would defo come again we had a good time .Next time also I think I would book Asda delivery to the site as booths etc was so expensive. All in all great comfy quiet beautiful place loved it . We had a fantastic time at the lodge it exceeded all our expectations! The facilities were superb and it truly felt like a home away from home, especially for our furry friends who appreciated the thoughtful addition of dog toys. It's the little things like this that made our stay extra special. However, we did encounter a couple of minor issues that we feel could be improved upon. Firstly, we had some trouble setting up the TV as there was no internet connection available. We were disappointed that we couldn't access Netflix, but this was a minor inconvenience and didn't detract from our overall enjoyment of the lodge. Secondly, we were a little disappointed to find several stains on the duvet cover and sheets when we removed the bed linen. Whilst we understand that accidents can happen, we would have appreciated if the stains had been dealt with prior to our arrival. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable retreat.
