Winter transforms everything with frost and snow. With private parking for 12 cars and bike storage, it's easy to explore the surrounding countryside on foot, two wheels, or four.
The accommodation includes Riverside Cottage (4 bedrooms), Butterfly Cottage (3 bedrooms) and the cosy one-bedroom Tulip and Lily Cottages. Eight bathrooms mean no morning queues! The cottages feature super-king and king-size beds, with two ground-floor bedrooms that have en-suites. Modern kitchens include range cookers, multiple ovens and fridges - everything needed for cooking up post-hike feasts.
Kendal town is just 5.8 miles away (15 minutes' drive), offering shops, restaurants and the famous Kendal Mint Cake. Visit the 12th-century Kendal Castle (6 miles), explore the World of Beatrix Potter (20 miles, 35 minutes), take a boat trip on Lake Windermere (18 miles, 30 minutes), or hike up Scafell Pike (30 miles, 60 minutes) for spectacular views.
