Cleanliness questionable!
Stayed here for week and the cottage was ot upto scratch on the cleanliness front, cobwebs in every room , mold in bathrooms...dirty grouting in between tiles ...broken glass under the sofa...dirty extractor fan...cracked and dirty floor tiles...not what I would expect when paying 750 for a week...check in was 5pm and checkout at 10am so 7 hours is ample to clean and sort out the property for the next guests! Nice area and lovely stream to front of cottage.
First class cottage with high quality furniture and fittings.
The cottage was in a pretty location with a lot of amenities in the village. The cottage was spacious with excellent d?cor and had everything we needed. The people in the village were very friendly.
A lovely cottage in an excellent location. A real home from home.
real home from home
I have just enjoyed a weekend in this accommodation with 3 generations of my family and can honestly say we were all astonished by the attention to detail. One of the main reasons we chose this property was because we have a dog and wanted to be able to open the doors and know he was safely contained. There were lots of lovely surprises in every room from the lovely artwork, ornaments and quality of crockery at our disposal. The owners seem to have considered every potential need. In addition to the usual provision of all kitchen requirements we found ice packs and cool bag for picnics, nappy bags, poo bags....All the bags!!! Children's books and games, lots of DVDS, attractive bedding and gorgeous rose scented hand wash at every sink. Not a bit of black grout in sight and the place was spotless. It has been noted that there is no microwave but with a five burner gas hob and fan assisted oven we didn't really want one. There was an electric coffee grinder and percolator though. The TV is perhaps smaller than most people have at home but its perfectly adequate and we could all see the Marigold Hotel DVD (provided) The 'Snug', which is, in fact, a second full size sitting room would benefit from a second TV especially if a family were there with children or teenagers. We loved the location and property and would definitely return.
Perfect cottage
We have just returned from a weekend in this cottage. I must say it is lovely with so much attention to detail. We have 5 kids ranging from 5 to 15 and this cottage catered for our needs more than adequately. The garden was contained at the front and back, so perfect for letting our dog out without worrying she was going to run off. There is all you need for a comfy stay here, and the location is very quiet. There was lego and games for the kids. The cottage was lovely and warm and both bathrooms are beautiful! All the mattresses on the beds were very comfy and of good quality. I would say it is a 45 minute trek if the central lakes are your main destination (Ambleside/Grasmere/Hawkshead), but well worth it. I would mirror the other review, that having made the effort of a surround sound system and bluray dvd player, that the the tv was perhaps just a little bigger. The lack of microwave didn't bother us. Washer and dryer were very useful.
Xmas stay
We stayed in this property for 5 night from December 22nd staying over Xmas . Property was decorated lovely all very clean and new the only downside we had was its states to sleep 8 I personally would say sleeps 6 bunk beds are not ideal for adults also there was no microwave to me this is an essential piece of equipment especially for 8 people . Would have liked a larger tv also maybe a small one in the snug not everyone wants to watch the same things. I would recommend this cottage .
A fantastic cottage - great location and good food served at the pub at the end of the road. We would love to live there.
The interior was beautiful and there was everything we needed in the property. We felt quite at home!
Property well suited to a large party. Very cosy and homely. Lovely location. Overall a great experience.
