Set in a peaceful village with fields all around, this accommodation gives you the best of rural life without being totally cut off. The Lake District's stunning landscapes are right on your doorstep. The private hot tub is absolute bliss after a day of hiking - nothing beats bubbling away with a glass of prosecco while your muscles thank you. There's even a children's playground less than 150 yards away when the kids need to burn off energy.

The cottage is lovely in its self all the bedrooms are spacious and really ... The cottage is lovely in its self all the bedrooms are spacious and really comfortable The bathrooms were also really well decorated and modern so no issues with the upstairs The living room could do with two new sofas as there was no cushioning in the seats and they are looking old and tatty and not very comfortable to sit on The kitchen could do with some new cutlery as this was really small and there were no wooden spoons, Nonstick pans would also be helpful The hot tub was freezing when we got there and took 2 days to warm up after a phone call and messages to the owner Apart from this it was a nice stay

We had such a fantastic weekend at Rock Cottage! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed, the cottage is full of charm and was so cozy. We loved spending our evenings by the log burner and relaxing in the hot tub, it was the perfect way to unwind. The setting was so peaceful and beautiful, and we absolutely loved the friendly horse in the field at the end of the garden who came over for apples! Such a lovely, Highly recommend Rock Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing countryside escape!

Rock cottage was a brilliant find. The cottage was very well presented and welcoming. We were there to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday. Our two labs also came and were very woofed about their welcoming gift. A nice touch . The hot tub was a great success and our grandchildren insisted on feeding Jeff our neighbout the horse with our best apples. A great time away for us all.

Stayed here for a little family get away for a birthday & it was a lovely cottage to stay in. Located in a nice little quiet village & lots of places nearby to go explore, the hot tub was great as well!

We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful cottage everything about our stay was perfect. The large garden was secure so our three dogs could roam whenever they wanted and even meet up with Jeff the horse who comes to the back fence for apples which, he knows, grow on a tree in the garden. My daughter fell in love with him he is a handsome boy . The hot tub was so relaxing especially with a glass of bubbly to hand and there is a nearby beautiful nature reserve,where we walked the dogs every day. The beds are very comfortable and there is Netflix on the TVs. I would highly recommend Rock Cottage and will definitely be back soon

Weve stay in a lot of cottages with the dog and yours was as dog friendly as any we have been in Rooms and beds are great and comfy absolutely no issue, the only little thing that could improve it is that in every other cottage we stayed in they had a few little cupboard essentials like condiments and cooking oil etc, however I may have missed them as kitchen space is limited but they did leave a nice filter coffee machine and coffee, Highly recommend

The property was in a lovely location very quiet and good position for touring round. The only negative comment I have is we could have made use of a washing line as the weather was so sunny and warm would have preferred hanging clothes out rather than using dryer which took forever to dry clothes. It was lovely that we had dog treat bags left such a thoughtful thing to do. Thankyou we had a great holiday with our family and our 4 yr old Grandson loved the village park. Jeff the horse was spoiled with apples and carrots too.

We will be back! We have had a lovely stay at Rock Cottage! Came for a nice, chilled weekend away with friends and Rock Cottage was the perfect place to do just that. Close to local pubs and shops and the area is remote and peaceful. The cottage was extremely clean and tidy and a true home from home feel. Great facilities and hosts were very helpful and contactable with any additional questions we had. We will definitely be back, recommend to all. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Comfortable beds. Amazing log fires. Logs provided by owner to start. Dog proof garden if you haven't got a Cairn. Hot tub was amazing. Great downstairs shower room. Hope we didn't leave too much mess and we will be allowed back.

Very clean, warm and well presented upon arrival. The owner had left some bubbly and dog treats which was appreciated. But having paid 1700 for our 3 night stay at New Year, we were disappointed to have to make a last minute dash into the nearest town to pick up essentials like washing up liquid and kitchen roll. Didnt make sense to find liquid laundry detergent but nothing to wash up with. By New Years Day we had to try and find a store open to buy toilet rolls, dish cloths and tea towels as only 2 of each for a party of 8 during the festive season

Beautiful welcoming cottage in a very, peaceful village, we had a lovely stay. Our girls particularly liked the games box we played Articulate every night! and they enjoyed the horses. The teles in the rooms were well appreciated, super comfy mattresses. Hot tub was fab, especially after a long walkhike. Welcome teas, sugar, milk etc also well received

Lovely cozy cottage, very quiet so nice and relaxing. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable beds, beautiful secure garden which our dogs loved and the hot tub is great. We had lovely days out exploring, going for walks, pub lunches, then spent our evenings in the hot tub and playing games which were provided, lots of fun. Treats were provided for the dogs which was so nice and kind. Tea, coffee and milk were also provided so we could have a drink on arrival which was nice. We had an Asda food delivery arranged for when we arrived, no issues at all. I had messaged the owner a couple of times, just with questions, communication was great. I would highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing break away.

Our family of 6, along with our dog Bronte, had a wonderful stay at Rock Cottage. We had family visiting from Canada and Australia, so it was the perfect opportunity to all spend some quality time together. The cottage was exactly as described, and we were especially impressed by the size of the bedrooms, which were spacious and comfortable for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend Rock Cottage for a relaxing family getaway.

We had a lovely stay at Rock cottage. Shame about the weather but it didn't stop us having the best time. It had everything you needed for a stress free stay with the added bonus of the hot tub. We had a fabulous time at Rock Cottage celebrating my husbands 60th birthday during our stay! The idyllic cottage is in a lovely quiet village and is very private. The owners were very helpful and quick to reply to any queries we had. The kitchen is well equipped providing all the cooking utensils we required during our stay. We ate at a local pub the Cross Keys twice which I would thoroughly recommend. The drive to Ullswater, Derwent Water and Bowness on Windermere was beautiful even if a bit icy! The hot tub was amazing even though it was 7 degrees! As a family ranging in age from 1 to 60 we had great fun and I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Rock Cottage

A beautifully furnished, cosy cottage property. The cottage kitchen was well equipped with everything our group needed for a selfcatering minibreak. The property is centrally heated throughout. As ours was an autumnal visit it was great to be able to light a log fire in the evening to add to the overall ambience! Lovely period property with a rustic feel. Travelled with 3 little ones under 3 and 2 German Shepherds but still had plenty of space. Garden was perfect for the dogs and the horses in the field at the end made the toddlers stay. The hot tub was a welcome addition to relax at the end of a tiring day. Rock Cottage was spotlessly clean, everything was fresh and pristine. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 children. It was perfect for our needs. Nice big living room and plenty of space outside. High chair, stair gate and cot were all ready set up for us on arrival. Would definitely stay again.
